How to Make It – 40 Days and nights on the Master Cleanse Mentally prepare for this, the mind is a powerful tool. If you have never fasted before maybe starting small is a better place to begin to approach this. Practice denying yourself meat or dairy (or whatever your vice is) once or twice a week -- just 1x during the day you pick, and then increase this to being able to do it for a whole day and then for several times a week. Beginners always fare better mentally if they start a fast in the evening. By the time one wakes they have completed almost a half of a day...this gives one some weighing power to overcome the desires to quit when they can rationalize with themselves that they have already gotten some time under their belt. The key here is progress not perfection...as you practice "denying ones self" over time what you deny yourself will increase as you become more disciplined. Be patient and gentle with yourselves...remember you didn't get in the state you are in over night so expecting to get out of it overnight is not practical nor sane/rational thinking. · Healing for the Age of Enlightenment by Stanley Burroughs ISBN# 0-9639262-1-7 Balanced nutrition via the Master Cleanse, Vita Flex and Color Therapy … read this book in its entirety for your education on why, how, when and the results from others who have done this Master Cleanse. *****Prior to starting you will want to do a laxative tea for 1 day, both in the AM and PM. This prepares the body for the fast. Personally, if I have eaten meat/fish then I start the week before with eliminating them first and then progressing to the tea. 2 Tbsp lemon or lime juice (ORGANIC Pulp and rind added for bulk) 2 Tbsp genuine organic maple syrup B or C Dark Amber **Diabetics replace this with pure sorghum 1/10 to 1/4 tsp Cayenne or to taste for B and C vitamins) 8 oz. glass of distilled or purified (NON-CHLORIDATED) water (may be hot or cold) Mix all and consume with 10-15 minutes after making to retain the active enzymes, repeat if still feeling hunger. Separate mint teas Most hunger pangs subsided within 3 days. Always ask if it is your mind that is hungry, or is it your body….9 times out of 10 it is your mind telling you you should be hungry. Who is in control, your mind or your body? NEVER use vitamin supplements NO colonics or enemas. Consume a minimum of 6-12 glasses during waking period. Min. of 7-10 days up to 40, 3-4 times yearly. Min. of 3 Bowel movements daily, if not - laxative herb tea before bed and upon rising. Bathing frequently is important to helps flush the skin. (Non-Chlorinated water is best) Dry brushing skin every morning and evening with bristle brush toward heart Salt Flush 1 full quart of warm-hot water (the good stuff again) 2 level Tbs. NON-IODIZED salt (Sea Salt) Drink the entire quart first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. This has the same gravity as blood, so the kidneys can't pick up the water, nor can the blood pick up the salt. This may be taken as often as necessary for the proper washing of the entire digestive track. NOTE: If you are feeling upset/weakness it is a sign that you are not having sufficient elimination and that toxins are starting to re-circulate back into the body. Increase your fluids when this happens. It is also here that EO's or activated charcoal can be added as well. This charcoal can be purchased at most reputable health food stores. Exercise and appropriate rest also help ease the negative side effects. When breaking the fast return to solids slowly... Start with several cups of fresh diluted OJ the first couple of days. Day 3 do OJ and slowly add fresh fruit. Do not mix veggies with fruits...this will cause gas buildup. Day 4 do a veggie soup with NO meat or meat stock, but brown rice may be added. No bread or crackers!!! Things to avoid once off the fast (because they are mucus forming: no meat, fish, eggs, and dairy, bread, pastries, coffee, and caffeinated teas). By day 4 normal eating may be resumed...preferably eating a vegetarian diet of raw fruits/berries, veggies, and seeds/nuts. If gas occurs return to the lemonade drink for a few more days and gradually ease out again. DO NOT OVER EAT OR EAT TOO SOON.
