Truth

1. Truth is always simple and without complications.  We lose sight of it because it is so unassuming.

2. A man must possess a certain basic inner understanding, which he can use as a gauge in this world or he is lost.

3. We cannot see outside what we are not inside.

4. A disciplined body, obedient to the commands you give it, instead of permitting ignorance and gross indulgence of the senses to dictate, is just the first step towards mastery of self.

5. To speak of the horse sense of most people in the world is to insult a noble and useful animal.

6. We see shapes before us and have sensations of them … it is not the soul.  We have thoughts and images, things tossed by the psychic waves on the ocean of consciousness … that is not the soul.  And that which tells me these things are not the soul – why, that is the soul.

7. Selfishness is lack of understanding, overcome only by wisdom.

8. The power of thought is life itself.  When Newton was asked how he came to discover the law of gravitation, he answered, “By always thinking about it.”

9. He who knows others is clever.  He who knows himself is illuminated.

10. The easiest person in the world to deceive is himself.

11. He that pursues two rabbits at the same time does not catch one and lets the other go.

12. It seems as though the only way we can be taught is through our failures and disappointments … and there is another way.

· He who would grow in wisdom must give wisdom.  He who would grow in love must give love.  He who would grow in power of spirit must give us his power of spirit.

· Awakening Attitude  An "awakening" is a moment of clarity in which a new insight or understanding is gained. With this new awareness the experience of life is seen differently, and new possibilities are opened. Changes in patterns of thought, emotions, and behavior occur. An awakening allows the possibility of growth to new levels of psychological and spiritual maturity..

· "The longer I live the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company… a church… a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing that we can do is to play on the one string we have and that is our attitude… I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you… we are in charge of our attitudes."  Charles Swindoll   www.lessons4living.com/attitude  Lessons for Living
